BH3 Splash Out !

Details of the run are going to be brief as: a) I was very late. b) I ran the bits of the trail I could find backwards. c) I got lost. Having not been able to find the pub due to massive over-confidence and a lousy sense of direction, there was little chance of me finding any trail! I eventually did find some flour with the help of some passing walkers and I did meet the equally tardy Zebedee. He had at least realized which way the trail was intended to go and instantly abandoned me to my futile wanderings. I did finally meet up with the pack and was immediately drenched by the gleeful Chopstix. Deciding then to continue running the trail backwards, I very quickly got lost, pulled a muscle and fell over in no particular order, so a pretty good evening!

I eventually arrived back at the pub and everyone seemed very upbeat despite the dire weather. It was generally agreed that this was what BH3 really enjoyed – lots of puddles and lots of splashing. We all crowded into the very small back room for the down downs (More about that later)

Afterwards a lively conversation about the West Lothian question ensued with Baldrick accusing me of being a racist! (I like to think of myself as an equal opportunity xenophobe – I don’t like anybody!) It had started when I inquired of Old Dog (Love that name!) why if Scotland was such a great country did they all seem to live in Wokingham. All the old chestnuts were tossed on the fire - Our oil, missionary work etc. I was on familiar ground here and we even managed to draw one of the locals in when he overheard me commenting that Derby must have been pretty grim even in 1745 to make the Scots turn back. Fortunately he agreed and it does have an excellent ring road! Just think if Derby had been a nice place and they’d stayed, Culloden wouldn’t have happened, the Highlands wouldn’t have been cleared and Baldrick wouldn’t be able to go on long inexpensive holidays to New Zealand to visit relatives. So it’s worked out pretty well in the end!

DOWN DOWNS

RA Spot presided over the following awards;

LONELY

During Inter-hash he was let off the bus early to catch a train but was later seen “Skulking” on the streets of Cardiff.

Efficiently downed!

NUTTY

I can’t remember why but she was ever so pleased to see Motox!?

Would put most of the men to shame!

OLD DOG AND DUMPER

“You don’t come very often and then all you do is moan” Never a truer word said by the sage Dumper. He also physically stirred it in the run with a stick.

Dumper only managed half. At his age he’d have been up and down all night if he’d drunk a pint!

MRS BLOBBY

Picking Blackberries……..

For God’s sake woman it’s pouring!

CLOGGS

Kicking water up her own bottom!

OK if you’ve got “wings”

CHOPSTIX

Arch splasher and “Droopy drawers”

Takes after Foggy! Drinking that is! I don’t mean to suggest that she’s got a beard!

HAMLET

The Hare

Debonairly quaffed!
